Our Connections

While Baptist Churches are self-governed, from 1871 the West Melbourne Baptist Church has chosen (along with 230+ other churches) to be part of the Baptist Union of Victoria and a participant in activities we can best do together. Similarly, we have opted to participate in the worldwide community of Baptists (47 million) through the Baptist World Alliance.

Our Friends and Partners

We love the collaboration we have with a wide range of people, in a range of organisations. We seek to learn from one another. We want to complement the good work that is already happening rather than compete and duplicate what is already going on.

Hope Co-Op.jpg

The HOPE Co-Op is a cooperative that exists to support their members' social, economic inclusion and belonging in Australia. The people of the Hope Co-Op are mostly tertiary students who have sought asylum in Australia, and are now studying at TAFE or university. We are glad that the members of the Hope Co-Op use our facilities for their meetings, dinners and support.

The Hotham Mission is a faith based non-profit organisation providing targeted and compassionate support. The staff and volunteers work with disadvantaged local people in and around the North and West Melbourne area. The Hotham Mission runs programmes to give educational support, holiday activities, supporting people seeking asylum, developing community partnerships and providing young people and their families with access to fresh and non-perishable food. The West Melbourne Baptist Church is grateful to be represented on the Hotham Mission Board.
